Powered by the bacteria-killing ionic field Copper is known for, our Copper Membrane Insoles inhibit the growth of odour-causing bacteria. We crafted a unique copper membrane design for the first of its kind Copper membrane shoe insole. The Copper hexagon plate design is fitted to the centre of a breathable fabric insole, which can be cut down to size for virtually any shoe, skate, or boot.
Our founder Lyndon Smith, a precision toolmaker is equipped with over 30 years of precision toolmaking experience, decided to turn our expertise into creating game-changing shoe insoles and apparel.
He was inspired by the legendary history of his trade’s artisans — those who using nothing but the elements around them forged the most innovative technologies of their time. Inspired by copper’s well-known benefits, like seen in this study where scientists swapped out regular door knobs in a hospital, for copper ones. we began researching copper infusion, a process of weaving copper strands into textiles. It makes for breathable, lightweight, and moisture-wicking fabric.
Today, Lyndon Smith has developed a full line of copper-based wearable products.

How Copper Works

Copper and its alloys (brasses, bronzes, cupronickel, copper-nickel-zinc, and others) are natural antimicrobial materials. Ancient civilizations exploited the antimicrobial properties of copper long before the concept of microbes became understood in the nineteenth century. In addition to several copper medicinal preparations, it was also observed centuries ago that water contained in copper vessels or transported in copper conveyance systems was of better quality (i.e., no or little visible slime or biofouling formation) than water contained or transported in other materials.
The antimicrobial properties of copper are still under active investigation. Molecular mechanisms responsible for the antibacterial action of copper have been a subject of intensive research. Scientists are also actively demonstrating the intrinsic efficacy of copper alloy “touch surfaces” to destroy a wide range of microorganisms that threaten public health.

The insoles are super comfortable — but even more importantly to me is that my feet sweat a LOT and smelly footwear has always been an issue. These insoles have eliminated my foot odour. I can keep my shoes in the house again and I’m not embarrassed when I take them off to shower at the gym.
